If you are a first time home buyer in need of a lawyer (and have no experience with lawyers), DO NOT use him! he will take full advantage of you and leave you stranded. My wife and I purchased a 3 year old condo for the first time and we went in for a consult about 2 weeks before we had to close our deal. He gave us an amazing quote that it would be about $1200 as we are purchasing a relatively new unit and everything is in good standing according to the status certificate. We told him that we would be using a lender as opposed to a bank for our mortgage and he said that it would be ok. Everything seemed alright until the second last day before we had to finalize our contract. He hiked up his price to $4000 saying that because we used a lender, it caused him more paper work and longer wait on the phone as opposed to a major bank. We were caught off guard and didn't know what to say or how to respond, but since he purposely waited until the very last business day, we didnt have a choice but to go through with him. This was an incredibly stressful moment of our life and we don't want anyone else to go through what we had to. I hope he burns in hell.
